On the eve of the Day of the Inventor and Innovator of Russia, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Dinar Shakirov, in an interview with Tatar-inform, told about the work being carried out in the republic within the framework of the year of scientific and technological development: what is Tatarstan doing to achieve technological sovereignty of Russia, how innovative technological enterprises can receive financial support from the state.
Dinar Shakirov said that within the framework of the Year of Scientific and Technological Development announced in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Government of the Republic, together with universities, research and public organizations, has approved a roadmap that includes 131 events.
The Innovation Assistance Fund is one of the most effective institutions for the development of small innovative entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Tatarstan, including beginners, actively interact with the fund, are participants and grantees of all support tools: the built–up line of programs allows you to grow with the Fund - from the idea to entering foreign markets.
The Foundation implements a wide range of programs aimed at different target groups and levels of project development. Among them are such programs as "Innoshkolnik", "UMNIK", "Student Startup", "Start", "Development", "Commercialization" and "Internationalization".
Contests within the framework of support programs are periodically updated. For example, in 2024, the Foundation for the Promotion of Innovation announced the acceptance of applications for two new competitions: "Start-Machine Tool Construction" and "Development-Machine Tool Construction".
A regional representative office of the Innovation Assistance Fund operates in the Republic of Tatarstan. Its functions are performed by an organization subordinate to the Ministry of Economy – the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the regional representative office of the Foundation, institutes of innovative development and universities, is constantly and methodically working to involve young scientists, startups and new small innovative companies in the programs of the Foundation for the Promotion of Innovation.
Last year was very productive for the Republic of Tatarstan both in terms of the number of announced projects and the number of supported ones. By the end of 2023, 364 projects worth more than 737 million rubles were supported.
Innovative enterprises contribute to the achievement of technological sovereignty, which is one of the key tasks of the development of the real sector of the economy within the framework of the national project "Small and Medium-sized Enterprises".
In addition, the Deputy minister noted that technological and innovative startups need to protect intellectual property. The subsequent success of the project, and sometimes the very possibility of its existence and development, often depends on how protected the rights to it are.
He also shared where to go to register one's development rights. A competence center in the field of intellectual property has been established in the Republic of Tatarstan – this is a state autonomous institution "Center for Scientific and Technical Information of the Republic of Tatarstan", subordinate to the Ministry of Economy of the Republic.
