Tatarstan's young innovators can receive half a million for the development of scientific projects

Tatarstan citizens aged 18 to 35 can participate in the federal competition of scientific research projects "UMNIK", the winners of which will receive a grant of 500 thousand rubles for the subsequent commercialization of a scientific startup.

The competition was organized with the support of the Foundation for the Promotion of Innovation in cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation within the framework of the federal project "Technologies" of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy". 

The selection of works is carried out in key areas, including digital technologies, medicine, new materials, instrumentation, biotechnology and resource-saving energy. Special attention is paid to projects that correspond to the priorities of national technological leadership projects, such as machine tool construction, unmanned systems, new energy technologies and food security.

An important feature of the 2026 competition is the active participation of industrial partners who create technological challenges for applicants.

Following the results of the projects, participants must demonstrate scientific and technical results, work out the commercial potential of the development, as well as prepare a business plan or switch to the following support tools of the Foundation - "Student Startup" or "Start".

Applications for participation in the competition are accepted until 12:00 (Moscow time) on May 27, 2026.
