The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan held an online seminar on RIA for republican executive authorities

On June 06, 2024, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan held an online training seminar on the topic: "Assessment of the regulatory impact of draft republican regulatory legal acts: goals and objectives, procedure, examples of best practices."

The seminar was opened by Gulnaz Ismagilova, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. In her welcoming speech, she noted that the Institute for Regulatory Impact Assessment (RIA) allows a systematic approach to the processes of introducing, changing and abolishing legal norms governing economic activity, and, as a result, significantly improving the quality, predictability and validity of decisions made by the state.

The online seminar was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Tatarstan, the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Biological Resources, the State Construction Supervision Inspectorate, and the State Housing Inspectorate.

During the event, the goals and objectives of conducting a regulatory impact assessment were considered, the procedure for conducting the procedure was studied, and examples of best practices for conducting a regulatory impact assessment at the regional level were considered.

The participants were also informed of the main tasks to improve the quality of RIA: conducting public consultations with the involvement of a wide range of representatives of the business community, properly completing summary reports with descriptions of alternative ways of regulation and assessing the costs of the business community arising from the introduced regulation.

This is the first online training seminar for republican executive authorities from a series of online seminars launched this year by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. The purpose of the online seminars is to gain and deepen knowledge in the field of regulatory impact assessment by specialists of republican executive authorities, introduce best practices in conducting regulatory impact assessment, as well as improve the effectiveness of regulatory impact assessment as a tool for business and government interaction.
