Midhat Shagiakhmetov spoke about the preparations for the XV International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum" in 2024
On May 2, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan held a briefing with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov, in which the minister spoke about what awaits the participants of the forum this year.
The conference outlined the events that will take place within the framework of the forum. Among them: panel session of the Central Bank of Russia; meeting of the Expert Council on conducting an experiment on partner financing under the Government of the Russian Federation; Partner finance sessions; presentation of partner finance companies at the RT stand.
Within the framework of the panel session, it is planned to discuss the first assessments, the results, the results of the experiment on partner financing in Russia, as well as new experience gained during its implementation. The session will be moderated by Alexey Guznov, Deputy Chairman of the Bank of Russia.
The meeting of the Expert Council will discuss the progress of the implementation of the federal plan for the implementation and conduct of the experiment. The main task of the council is to discuss and make decisions regarding the formation of proposals for improving the mechanism of the experiment. In addition, the Expert Council is developing proposals to determine the criteria for the effectiveness and efficiency of the experiment.
KazanForum will host separate sessions on partner financing and courses from the Accounting and Auditing Organization for Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI). Two discussions will also be held within the framework of the forum: "Financial technologies in Islamic Finance: modern approaches and prospects" and "Islamic Neobank: World Practice".
A stand of the Republic of Tatarstan dedicated to partner financing will function in Pavilion II. Six financial and credit institutions of the republic, which have already entered the partner banking market and are implementing partner (Islamic) products, will be presented at the stand.
The stand of the Agency for State Order of the Republic of Tatarstan will be located in Pavilion III, where an electronic trading platform for entrepreneurs corresponding to the norms of Islamic finance will be presented.
The forum will also feature an Islamic information Portal containing information and training materials and financial proposals from market participants, with the opportunity to submit a request for product design.
"Systematic work is underway in the republic to implement an experiment on partner finance, taking into account the adopted Action Plan. To date, 18 organizations have been included in the register of participants in the experiment of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, 14 of which operate in the republic. According to our market participants, the indicators of the corresponding period of this year for transactions exceed the volumes that were before the experiment," Midhat Shagiakhmetov said.
