The number of businessmen has increased in Tatarstan

In Tatarstan, as of March 10, the number of small and medium-sized businesses amounted to more than 168 thousand, which is 1.6% more than last year's total. The growth of business activity indicates favorable conditions for doing business, created, among other things, thanks to the implementation of the national project "Small and Medium-sized entrepreneurship".

The purpose of the national project "Small and medium—sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative" is to support business at all stages of its development: from the initial idea to expansion and export. This is especially important in the current conditions, when the state needs a prompt response to the economic situation and timely adjustment of support measures in accordance with business requests.

Thus, thanks to the national project "Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship", as well as federal and regional targeted support mechanisms, the growth of business entities and the number of citizens employed in small and medium-sized businesses has been ensured in the republic.

Over the past year in the Republic of Tatarstan, the number of SMEs employed in the total number of people employed in the economy increased by 5.8% and amounted to almost 800 thousand people – about 40% of the jobs created in Tatarstan.

It is expected that by the end of 2023, the number of employed by SMEs, as well as registered self-employed, will reach 810 thousand people – this is the main indicator of the implementation of the national SME project.
