Cooperation with the Single-industry Towns Development Fund allowed attracting more than 27 billion investments to single-industry towns of Tatarstan and creating about 7.5 thousand jobs

Currently there are 7 single-industry towns on the territory of Tatarstan, in which more than a million inhabitants live, this is a quarter of the economically active population of the republic. New opportunities for their development have appeared thanks to support programs of the Single-industry Towns Development Fund (МОНОГОРОДА.РФ).

So, thanks to the joint work of the Government of the Republic and the МОНОГОРОДА.РФ Foundation, 8 large infrastructure projects were implemented in the single-industry towns of Tatarstan for a total of 3.5 billion rubles, 2.5 billion of which were allocated by the Single-industry Towns Development Fund. Another 4 investment projects received support from the Fund in the form of a loan in the amount of 1.5 billion rubles.

As a result of implementation of projects in single-industry towns of Tatarstan, 7.5 thousand jobs were created, and investment for about 27 billion rubles were attracted to the economy.

“In October, the Single-industry Towns Development Fund turns 6, and during this time, thanks to projects implemented jointly with the leadership of the republic, single-industry towns of Tatarstan have become full-fledged points of growth and attraction of new investments. Today they are distinguished by a modern well-developed infrastructure, suitable for both life and comfortable business. Mono-territories continue to develop actively: the economic climate is improving, new investors are coming to cities. Cooperation with the Fund opens up additional opportunities for the integrated development of single-industry towns for us”, stressed the Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov.

In particular, with support of the Single-industry Towns Development Fund in Tatarstan, infrastructure projects were implemented to reconstruct key highways in Naberezhnye Chelny and Nizhnekamsk, as well as the engineering and road infrastructure for the industrial parks “Development” (Naberezhnye Chelny), “Haier” (Naberezhnye Chelny), Nizhnekamsk, Zelenodolsk and Elabuga wholesale distribution center, which made the conditions for investors planning to implement their projects in single-industry towns more attractive.

One of the last projects implemented in Tatarstan with the assistance of the Fund was the construction of off-site networks for a wholesale distribution center for X5 Retail Group in the Elabuga single-industry town. As of today, the construction of the republic's second wholesale distribution center for X5 Retail Group has been completed. Its area was more than 17 thousand square meters. All necessary communications have already been brought to the building, a road has been built. The Fund allocated 147.8 million rubles for the construction of engineering and transport infrastructure for the logistics center, 41.8 million rubles were allocated from the budget of the republic. At the expense of these funds, gas, water, heat and power supply networks, water disposal, a boiler house were built, as well as the reconstruction of the highway.

The opening of a new wholesale distribution center will employ about 270 people in the single-industry town of Elabuga. The total volume of investments attracted to the project amounted to almost 980 million rubles. In addition, the favorable geographic location of the facility will allow the grocery company to arrange supplies to retail chains in Tatarstan and Udmurtia, and will also contribute to the development of transport and logistics services in Elabuga.

Among the investment projects, the Fund supported the creation of a modern, high-tech complex for the production of cars and special equipment for the Remdizel company, the creation of a metal-working center for EPS metal cleaning at Kama-Trade Tatarstan company and the expansion of the Kama industrial park Master.

In addition, in 5 single-industry towns of the republic, territories of advanced socio-economic development (TASED) have been created and are functioning, which are also one of the tools for attracting investment, creating new jobs, diversifying the economy and creating favorable conditions for doing business. The staff of the Single-industry Towns Development Fund provides consulting support on preparation of applications for the creation of a territories of advanced development. Today, 82 companies - residents of the TASED operate on their territory, which have made 13.5 billion rubles of capital investments since the moment of granting the status of residents, and created more than 6.5 thousand new jobs.
