Rustam Minnikhanov made a presentation at the plenary session of the Russian-Turkish business forum

Today, while on a working visit to the Republic of Turkey, the President of the Republic of Tatarstan - Rustam Minnikhanov participated in the plenary session of the Russian-Turkish business forum "The new stage in the Russian-Turkish partnership in the trade and economic sphere".

Rustam Minnikhanov, as the leader of the most active region of Russia, cooperating with Turkey, made a separate report at the business forum. In the beginning of his speech he expressed his gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation - Vladimir Putin and the President of the Turkish Republic - Redzep Tajip Erdogan, as well as to the Minister of Energy of Russia and the Minister of Economy for the attention and support of the development of cooperation between our countries. He addressed some words of gratitude to the Governor of Izmir Province and the Mayor of the city for their hospitality and the organization of the Forum.

"Tatarstan pays much attention to the expansion of cooperation with the Republic of Turkey within the framework of Russian-Turkish relations." We have always sought to serve as an efficient link between our countries. Today, the recovery period in Russian-Turkish relations has been completed and we return to normal partnership interaction. It is important that our countries are committed to further development of contacts in accordance with the Agreement on the foundations of bilateral relations, which became 25 years old last May," noted the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Currently a cooperation agreement is in force between Tatarstan and the Republic of Turkey. The General Turkish Consulate is working successfully in Kazan. The Embassy of our Republic in operating in Istanbul. Kazan has twin-city relations with Ankara and Istanbul. We are linked by regular flight connection with departures from Kazan and the airport "Begishevo".

“The Republic of Turkey is one of the leading foreign partners of Tatarstan. Your companies have invested 2 bln USD in our Republic,” - underlined Rustam Minnikhanov and listed the largest joint projects implemented in Tatarstan: "We have 10 Turkish plants working successfully today:" "Kastamonu Entegre" (wood-fibre slabs); "Hayat Kimya" (sanitary goods); "Shishejam"-"Thracian Glass Rus" (sheet glass); "Shishejam"-"Automative Glass Alliance Rus" (automobile glass); "Dzhoshkunoz" (car body parts); "Design Group" (production of plastic pipes); "Koluman" (special machinery on the basis of Russian and European trucks); "Tirsan Kordan" (production of cardaned shafts); "Sarach Makina" (plastic products).

In addition to these, it is planned to launch the plant for deep oil reprocessing of the company "TAIF NC”, in the construction of which the company “Gemont” takes part. We cooperate with one of Turkey's largest industrial zones, the ' Gebze ' zone, which is ready to act as an operator for the development of a Sviazhsky Multimodal Complex and the SEZ, located in Tatarstan." In addition, a multi-purpose residential and trade office complex "Sunrise City" has been built in the city of Naberezhnye Chelny, which was built on the funds of the Turkish investor "Hayat Holding" ("Kompas Engineering"). In the future, the creation of an industrial greenhouse agricultural territory (being developed with the company "Mir Holding") is planned. "Several joint projects are under development", - he continued in his statement.

"We have enough opportunities to develop business links. The Turkish companies working in Tatarstan got convinced in this. We need to make greater use of the existing economic potential to build mutually beneficial cooperation. We are interested that the Turkish business will further develop its projects in Tatarstan and are ready to create all necessary conditions for doing so.

In two months, a meeting of the Russian-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission for Trade and Economic Cooperation will be held on the territory of SEZ "Alabuga". "I invite you to visit our Republic in order to ascertain the effectiveness of mechanism of the Russian-Turkish economic and investment cooperation," assured Rustam Minnikhanov in finalyzing his report.
