The representatives of the Organized Industrial Zone “Gebze” visited the Agency of Investment Development of the Republic of Tatarstan

A meeting with representatives of Organized Industrial Zone “Gebze” (Turkey), headed by Director Mr. Zeynep Sonmez was held on 04.04.2017 at the Agency for Investment Development of the Republic of Tatarstan.

On the part of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the meeting was attended by Deputy Minister Mr. Bulat Khaziakhmetov and Head of economic analysis and project management Mr. Yury Minnullin.

During the meeting they discussed the issues of the investment potential of the Republic of Tatarstan, realization of the principle of “one window” in the Republic of Tatarstan, as well as a mechanism of accompanying investors at the stages of investment activity.

Organized Industrial Zone “Gebze” plans to take part in economic projects on the territory of the Republic of Tatarstan, including the project of implementation of Svijazh interregional multimodal logistic center, which main task is using the favorable geographical position of the region. The project realization will contribute to the development of transport corridor Europe-Western China “and would allow the unification of transport-logistics and production sites”.

Organized Industrial Zone  “Gebze” is located in the province of Gebze, on the border between the cities of Istanbul and Kocaeli. The zone was founded in 1986. Currently, 156 companies are registered, 42 of which are foreign ones. The staff is 22 thousand people. This is the most dynamically developing Turkish OIZ, the first special industrial zone in Turkey and in the world, fully funded by investors without attracting loans. Export of enterprises of the zone is estimated to be over 1 billion USD, investments in the amount of up to 1.35 USD.
