MPC since February 1, 2017 will begin to issue passports of the Russian Federation citizens

The relevant government resolution of November 18, 2016 No. 1214 "About introduction of amendments to the Provision on the passport of the citizen of the Russian Federation" has been signed by the Prime minister of the country Dmitry Medvedev.
It is provided that since February 1, 2017 the service in delivery and replacement of the passport of the citizen of the Russian Federation proving the citizen's identity in the territory of Russia will be obligatory for all MPCs, ready passports will be issued at the same MPCs where applications for their registration are submitted.
