In SEZ "Alabuga" the new plant of Ford Sollers engines is started

In the territory of OEZ "Alabuga" with participation of the acting president of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov there took place on September 3, 2015 a ceremony of start of the Russia's first plant on production of automobile engines of the Ford Sollers brand.
The Minister of Economics of the Republic of Tatarstan Artyom Zdunov participated in a ceremony of start.
The plant of Ford Sollers engines became the Russia's first production of automobile engines of foreign brand – still motors for the foreign cars assembled in our country were delivered from abroad. All volume of the engines made at the enterprise will be delivered on the Ford cars made at the Russian plants of JV Ford Sollers. The petrol engine 1,6 Ti-VCT Sigma became the first made model of the engine – in different modifications it develops the power of 85, 105 and 125 horsepowers. This modification will equip not less than 30% of the cars made in Russia Ford – the models Focus, EcoSport, Fiesta. At the first stage the power of production will make 105 thousand motors a year, with possible increase to 200 thousand engines a year.
The volume of investment into creation of new production made 275 million US dollars, at plant 200 workplaces are created. Creation of plant of engines will allow to increase considerably the level of localization of the Ford cars made in Russia which following the results of 2014 made 40%. Thanks to input in a system of motor production, until the end of 2015 the level of localization has to reach 45%. The main accessories for engines: the cylinder block, a cranked shaft and a head of the block will be delivered by the Russian companies of JSC Zavolzhsky Motor Plant and "GAZ Group", engine oil – JSC Lukoil.
Tatarstan citizens aged 18 to 35 can participate in the federal competition of scientific research projects "UMNIK", the winners of which will receive a grant of 500 thousand rubles for the subsequent commercialization of a scientific startup.
A meeting of the working group on ensuring the sustainable development of the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov.
On April 24, 2026, Elena Filippova, Head of the Regulatory Impact Assessment and Competition Development Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, participated in the interregional round table "The Digital Future of the Regions: Introducing digital Tools into Regulatory Impact Assessment", organized by the Department of Economic Policy and Development of the City of Moscow.
Yesterday, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, chaired by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov, held a meeting with representatives of business associations and public organizations of the Republic. The event was attended by representatives of the Association of Small and Medium-sized Businesses of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Vysokogorsky Municipal District of the Republic of Tatarstan.
