Midkhat Shagiakhmetov took part in the plenary session of Kazan Digital Week-2025

On September 17, a plenary session "Technological Leadership through Artificial Intelligence: New Horizons and Challenges" was held in Kazan at the Kazan Digital Week-2025 (KDW) International Forum, attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov.

The plenary session was attended by Maksut Shadaev, Minister of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation, Rustam Minnikhanov, Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Andrey Omelchuk, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, Airat Nurutdinov, CEO of PJSC Tattelecom, Zhanna Alekseeva, State Secretary, Deputy Minister of Culture, Vadim Kulik, Deputy President and Chairman of the Board of VTB Timur Akhmerov, CEO of BARS Group. The moderator was journalist Dmitry Shchugorev.

The speakers of the event discussed the role of domestic IT solutions in achieving technological sovereignty. Maksut Shadaev noted that the growth rate of the IT industry in Tatarstan is higher than in Russia as a whole. Over the past five years, the growth in the republic has amounted to 4.4%.

The KDW Forum covers ten main topics — from digital technologies in education, healthcare, agriculture to intelligent transport systems, financial technologies and cybersecurity.

The forum will host more than 140 events, including a strategic session of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, presentations of real cases of the introduction of artificial intelligence in various fields, a forum of blockchain technologies and the crypto industry, conferences, sections, hackathons, webinars, a job fair and other events.

The KDW International Forum is taking place from 17 to 19 September in Kazan. More than 20 thousand people from 76 countries will participate in the event. The business program includes more than 160 sections, in which more than 1.2 thousand speakers will speak. Experts, in particular, will discuss the topics of digital technologies in public administration, education, culture, healthcare, agriculture, cybersecurity, fintech and intelligent transport systems.

The forum was first held in Tatarstan in 2020, and the event received federal status in 2023.
