Within the framework of the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum", Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov took part in a number of business meetings of Sheikh Ibrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa: with Emin Agalarov and representatives of VEB.RF and Gazprombank.
Cooperation agreements were also signed with Kazan Federal University and As-Salam Company.
Tatarstan has become one of the 4 pilot regions for the implementation of the principles of Islamic (partner) banking and financing in Russia.
VEB.RF and the Government of Tatarstan will cooperate and develop partnership financing. The agreement on this, within the framework of the forum, was signed by the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Minnikhanov, and the Chairman of the State Development Corporation VEB.RF Igor Shuvalov.
Today, there is a significant increase in interest in partner financing in the republic, both among citizens and financial organizations. The volume of transactions in 2024 increased 2.5 times compared to 2023.
At the plenary session of the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KazanForum", the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, R. N. Minnikhanov gave a speech. He stressed that last year Tatarstan's trade turnover with the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation increased by 38% and amounted to about $ 8 billion.
