Please accept my most sincere congratulations on our main holiday – the Great Victory Day!
Today we celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory! We will forever remember the heroic deeds of millions of compatriots, our fathers, grandfathers and great-grandfathers who stood up in battle, defended their native land, and defeated Nazism.
We bow before the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, who gave their lives for our freedom. We grieve for all the innocent victims of that terrible war – for our loved ones who did not live to see Victory, died under bombing and shelling, tortured in concentration camps, and became victims of the punishers in the occupied territories.
And we endlessly thank our war veterans, home front workers, blockade runners, partisans, prisoners of Nazism. People who still set us a great example of patriotism and love for the Motherland.
We will not forget your feat, dear veterans, and we will do everything to ensure that your life is filled with the warmth and care of others, the attention of the state, and the appreciation of the younger generation. Thank you for being with us, for giving us the happiness to be your contemporaries.
