A seminar on financial literacy for the older generation was held in Tatarstan

A seminar on financial literacy for the elderly of the Republic of Tatarstan within the framework of the social project "Zhiznelyub" was held today in the House of Education Workers of the city of Kazan. The event was organized with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Kazan City Hall, the National Bank of the Republic and Sberbank PJSC.

"Today in the Republic of Tatarstan, special attention is paid to issues of financial security, public education in the field of combating fraud. To ensure the safety of funds, it is important to identify new fraud schemes in a timely manner and inform citizens about them," said Emil Khismatov, Deputy Director of the Entrepreneurship Development Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan.

During the seminar, participants learned about the key principles of protecting their finances, got acquainted with the most common types of fraud and received specific recommendations on how to protect themselves and their loved ones from financial losses.

Representatives of the Branch of the National Bank of the Republic of Tatarstan of the All–Russian State University of the Bank of Russia and the Branch of the Bank of Tatarstan of Sberbank PJSC also made expert reports.

Particular attention was paid to the fact that no bank or government agency ever requests personal data by phone, or asks for a PIN or text message code, and any suggestions about transferring money to a "secure account" should arouse caution.

It is important to note that the event was held within the framework of the social project "Zhiznelyub", aimed at improving the quality of life of older citizens, for whom financial literacy is a necessary skill in everyday life.

As a result of the event, participants received information materials and practical tools to protect their finances in modern conditions.
