15 April 2025, Tuesday

Today, the Kazan City Hall hosted a solemn awarding ceremony for the winners of the republican contest "The Best territorial public Self-government of the Year of the Republic of Tatarstan".

Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov, on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, R. N. Minnikhanov, the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and himself, congratulated the winners and prize–winners of the competition, noting the important role of TSG in the development of territories and the organization of work with citizens.

The competition has been held since 2015. There are 484 registered territorial public self-governments in Tatarstan. This indicates the relevance of this institute among the residents of the republic.

In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the main activities of the TSG: involving citizens in public life, solving pressing issues of territories, organizing cultural events, and supporting socially vulnerable categories of the population. TSG are centers of social activity and initiative, the mainstay of government authorities in the implementation of national and federal programs.

Special attention is paid to the role of TSG in large cities. The Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rustam Nurgalievich Minnikhanov, pays special attention to the development of the institute of territorial public self-government. Funds are guaranteed to be allocated annually from the republic's budget for payments to TSG managers and annual grants to the best TSGs. Municipalities also implement their own programs to support territorial public self-government.

Organizational and informational support for TSG is provided by the Association "Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan", which has established the TSG Coordinating Council.

Midkhat Shagiakhmetov noted the importance of effective interaction of TSG Councils with government authorities and expressed hope for further fruitful joint work.
