On March 27, 2025, at the IX Annual International Exchange Commodity Market Forum, a Cooperation Agreement was signed between St. Petersburg Stock Exchange JSC and AS SALAM consumerist society. The parties plan to develop cooperation in the field of partner financing in order to create exchange-traded and financial instruments that comply with Russian legislation, including laws on exchange trading and clearing.
The Commodity Exchange Market Forum is a key platform for the development of new markets and areas in stock trading, such as construction and secondary raw materials, as well as a new perspective — a financial system operating on the principle of partner financing.
According to Igor Artemyev, President of St. Petersburg Stock Exchange, the agreements signed today will strengthen cooperation, giving it a systematic and constructive character.
According to the agreement, innovations will be introduced in cooperation with AS SALAM consumerist society. It is planned to create new sections and tools, expand the range and formats of transactions to develop comfortable trading conditions with the OIC countries. This will allow the St. Petersburg Stock Exchange to become a bridge between the commodity markets of Russia and the OIC countries, as noted by Kazbek Pshinshev, Assistant to the President of St. Petersburg Stock Exchange JSC.
Renat Yedikhanov, Chairman of the Management Board of AS SALAM, also stressed that the signed cooperation agreement would provide a new impetus for Islamic finance in Russia and would benefit market participants, including the capital market.
