Today, following a meeting of the Interdepartmental Working Group on the Creation and Development of Special Economic Zones, chaired by Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, it was decided to approve the expansion of the Green Valley SEZ. The republic was represented by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov.

The initiative to expand the Green Valley SEZ, designed to become a driver of innovation and high-tech industries, was presented at the meeting.

As part of the implementation of national priorities to ensure technological leadership and the development of the bioeconomy, Tatarstan has received significant support. Now, according to the decision of the federal center, the zone will receive a new development due to the addition of 374.44 hectares of land in the Nizhnekamsk region.

Eight projects involve attracting significant investments of about 299 billion rubles. It is expected to create 1,841 jobs, develop modern infrastructure worth over 50 billion rubles, and generate significant tax potential — 62.2 billion rubles by 2035.

A significant part of the production will be focused on both domestic and foreign markets.

Thus, the expansion of the Green Valley SEZ will strengthen Tatarstan's position and make a significant contribution to the creation of a powerful center for the development of bioeconomics in Russia, combining advanced achievements in petrochemistry, agriculture and science.
