This was stated by the First Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Natalia Kondratova at a press conference dedicated to the implementation of the national project "Small and medium-sized enterprises". She noted that the small and medium-sized business sector in the region was developing in all major indicators.
Thus, the share of citizens employed in small businesses amounted to about 40% of the total number of people employed in the republic's economy. Active citizens created new businesses and started projects as self-employed. In general, by the end of January-October 2024, the number of self-employed increased to 352.7 thousand people.
The number of small and medium-sized businesses increased by 4% and exceeded 176.9 thousand units. This year, the SME sector has seen growth in all major industries. These are IT, manufacturing, tourism, logistics, scientific and technical sphere, etc.
There are also positive changes in the qualitative composition of SMEs - the number of medium-sized enterprises increased by 7.4% and small enterprises by 4.8%.
According to Natalia Kondratova, positive results were achieved primarily thanks to the entrepreneurs themselves and the implementation of support measures for the national project "Small and Medium-sized Enterprises".
