Today, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov took part in the celebration of Victory Day in Nizhnekamsk. The Head of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, on behalf of the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, congratulated veterans and residents of Nizhnekamsk on the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

"79 years separate us from the historical date – May 9, 1945, when, after 1,418 days of incredible trials, an unprecedented feat of our people, a salute was given to commemorate the victory over Nazi Germany. The victory was won at a high price. There is no family that would not be affected by the Great Patriotic War, the memory of it is dear to each of us. Thanks to the indomitable will and unity of the entire people, the steadfastness of the front-line soldiers and home front workers, their self-sacrifice, it was possible to defend the freedom and independence of our Fatherland, to free all mankind from fascist oppression. And today, during a special military operation, Tatarstan citizens defend the interests of our state, its security and sovereignty, show courage and bravery on the battlefields, honestly fulfilling their military duty, sometimes at the cost of their own lives. On this holiday, we bow our heads low before the bright memory of those who died in battle, and pay tribute to the living participants and witnesses of that terrible war. Sincere words of gratitude to you, dear veterans, we are proud and admire you!" he said.

In Nizhnekamsk, according to tradition, the main celebrations on the occasion of May 9 were held on the territory of the Victories Monument. At exactly ten in the morning, a festive themed prologue "Victory for Life" began on Victory Square, the participants of which told about the strength and courage of the Soviet people during the war years. The holiday continued with a solemn rally.

After that, all those gathered honored the memory of 27 million war dead and veterans who did not live to see Victory Day with a minute of silence and a triple volley of military weapons. Flowers were laid at the foot of the Victory Monument, at the monument to home front workers and children of war.

The brightest part of the holiday – the Victory Parade was represented by demonstrative performances by drummers of the Tatarstan Cadet Corps of the Volga Federal District named after Hero of the Soviet Union Gani Safiullin and a parade of paramilitary units. In total, about 700 people took part in the parade. The solemn part of the mass vocal and choreographic production "Happy Childhood" ended.
