The gross regional product of Tatarstan in 2023 exceeded 4 trillion rubles
This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov today at a joint meeting of the Operational Headquarters for Ensuring socio-economic Stability in the Republic of Tatarstan, the Board of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan and a visiting meeting of the State Duma Committee on Economic Policy.
Due to the formed margin of safety, the smooth operation of enterprises, small and medium-sized businesses, coordinated actions of authorities at all levels, the implementation of state support measures, national projects and republican programs by the end of 2023, the gross regional product of the republic exceeded 4 trillion rubles at a growth rate of 103.6% in comparable prices to the level of 2022.
Industry occupies the largest share in the structure of the economy. The key contribution to the dynamics of industrial production is provided by the manufacturing industries, primarily due to an increase in the machine-building complex.
The construction sector continues to develop, which accounts for 8% of the republic's economic structure. Due to the implementation of large-scale road construction projects and the high level of housing commissioning, the industry has experienced high growth rates for the second year in a row.
According to estimates, the volume of investments in fixed assets by the end of 2023 exceeded the target of a trillion rubles, ensuring a growth rate of 111%.
By the end of 2023, there is a recovery in consumer activity, primarily due to an increase in the turnover of non-food products. The active growth of the tourist flow also makes a positive contribution to the dynamics of retail trade and catering.
The share of agriculture in the economy of the republic is more than 4%. Tatarstan fully provides itself with the main types of food of its own production.
