In Tatarstan, with the participation of the Head of the Republic of Rustam Minnikhanov, the opening of the second stage of the wholesale distribution center Ozon on the territory of the industrial park "Zelenodolsk" took place. The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Economy of the region Midhat Shagiakhmetov.
With the launch of the second stage of the logistic center, the storage area will almost double – from 23 to 43 thousand square meters. The fulfillment center will provide accommodation for 10 million goods of different categories, and about 2 thousand people will work at the facility. 200 thousand parcels are sent to customers from Zelenodolsk daily, and up to 345 thousand during the peak season. In parallel, the construction of the third stage is underway, after the launch of which the area of the facility will increase by another 2 times to 84 thousand square meters.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Ozon for the implementation of large-scale investment projects in Tatarstan. "Today is a landmark event - Ozon launches the second stage. The pace of development of e-commerce in Tatarstan is very high, along with this, the quality of customer service in our republic is also improving. Already 8 thousand Tatarstan suppliers are promoting products through the Ozon system," the Head of RT emphasized.
Managing Director of Ozon Sergey Belyakov noted that e-commerce in Tatarstan is an example of successful synergy between business and the leadership of the republic. "Thanks to this, the number of sellers and owners of pick-up points in the region is growing at a twofold rate. We appreciate the progressive approach of the region in the development of entrepreneurship and therefore increase the support of small and medium-sized businesses from our side. There are already more than 1 thousand points of issue in the republic," he said.
"I remember how long before today, Rustam Nurgalievich and I came to Zelenodolsk, and then there was an open field on the site of the logistics center. The republic promised that soon a whole industrial city will "grow" in this place, and everything that Tatarstan says will necessarily turn into reality. The WEB.RF Group has allocated more than 900 million rubles for the construction of the infrastructure necessary for all residents. Moreover, we have given preferential loans to three entrepreneurs from this site for the development of their business. We are happy to see how Zelenodolsk is growing and developing," said WEB.RF's Chief Managing Partner for Urban Development Irina Makieva.
"Ozon is one of the largest residents of the Zelenodolsk industrial park. Today we have launched the second stage of the fulfillment center, the construction of the third stage is underway. These are new jobs, tax revenues and an increase in the level of socio-economic development of the district as a whole. Today, 25 companies are residents of PSEDA, more than 11 thousand jobs have been created," said Mikhail Afanasyev, head of the Zelenodolsk district.
Then the Minister, as part of the delegation, visited the Kazan customs post, which in October moved to the territory of the Zelenodolsk industrial park. The area of responsibility of the post includes Kazan, Zelenodolsk and 18 other districts of the republic, in which 600 participants conduct foreign economic activity. Among them are such large enterprises of Tatarstan as "Nefis", "POSiS", "Aegis", "Denoflex", Technofort" and others.
Then the participants got acquainted with the production of frozen flour semi-finished products of LLC "Saelra". The facility was put into operation in August of this year. Meat and meat-containing semi-finished products, bakery products and other types of products are produced here.
Midhat Shagiakhmetov also took part in a meeting on the further interaction of Tatarstan with the state Development Corporation "WEB.RF", held under the chairmanship of Rustam Minnikhanov.
