Today, at Kazan Digital Week – 2023, a business session "China: New Markets for entrepreneurs" was held, organized by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Russian-Chinese Working Group on Cooperation in Intellectual Property Protection and the State Unitary Enterprise of the Republic of Tatarstan "Tatarstan Center for Scientific and Technical Information". At the session, the issues of business entering the Chinese market and simplification of the process of intellectual property registration were discussed.
Arsen Savva, Head of the Tatarstan Central Research Institute subordinate to the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted that the current international situation gives an incentive to the active development of Russian business oriented to new markets. He stressed that intellectual property, as a factor of scientific and technological development, remains the most important tool for gaining and preserving the advantages of Russian products both in domestic and foreign markets.
He also said that Rospatent specialists are developing guidelines for the protection and protection of trademarks in China. This will help to significantly reduce the costs of business in both countries associated with a lack of information.
In addition, he said that together with Rospatent and the Federal Institute of Industrial Property, Tatarstan Central Research Institute is developing an Automated information and Analytical Platform Tatpatent, in 2023 it is planned to modernize this system and integrate with the main services of Rospatent.
Oleg Neretin, Director of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property, said in his speech that China occupies a special place on the international agenda. "We have strong bilateral ties with the State Administration of China on Intellectual Property (CNIPA), cooperation on international platforms, in the BRICS format," the speaker said.
Consul General of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Tatarstan Xiang Bo gave an overview of the structure of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the field of intellectual property. He outlined the importance of developing mutual trade and told how businesses can take advantage of the benefits provided by the intellectual property system.
Head of the International Cooperation Department of Rospatent Gleb Kuvyrkov noted that China and Russia maintain close and effective cooperation in the field of intellectual property rights protection. Within the framework of cooperation, a Russian-Chinese working group on cooperation in the protection of intellectual property rights has been established.
Emil Mammadov, Vice-President of the Eurasian Patent Office, also spoke at the business session, who said that 146 Eurasian applications for inventions were received from applicants from Tatarstan in the first six months of 2023. Applicants from the subject were granted 101 patents, according to this indicator, Tatarstan is in the top 10 among the regions of Russia.
The representative of the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia in the Republic of Kazakhstan, Egor Shipitsyn, gave information about the activities of representatives and support of entrepreneurs in China and the Republic of Kazakhstan.
