The acceptance of applications for the IV stage of the Student Startup competition has been extended

The acceptance of applications for the IV stage of the Student Startup competition has been extended until June 13, 2023. The IV stage of the competition started in early May. In total, in 2023, 1.5 thousand students will receive grants in the amount of 1 million rubles for the implementation of a startup project, whose applications will be recognized by an expert jury as the best.

The competition is held by the Innovation Promotion Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation within the framework of the federal project "Platform of University Technological Entrepreneurship".

Undergraduate, specialist, master's or postgraduate students who are ready to develop a new product, item, technology or service based on their own scientific and technical and scientific and technological research with the potential for commercialization can apply for the Student Startup competition. A startup of a university student must necessarily rely on an idea or a groundwork containing his own intellectual contribution.

Starting from the IV stage of the competition, foreign citizens studying at Russian universities can take part in the competition. When selecting applications, priority, other things being equal, will be given to projects focused on import substitution, instrumentation and medicine.

The participants of the Student Startup contest need to choose any of the seven thematic areas: these are digital technologies, medicine and health-saving technologies, chemical technologies and new materials, new devices and intelligent manufacturing technologies, biotechnologies, resource-saving energy or creative industries.

A university student who has received a grant will have to register a legal entity, develop a business plan and create a startup website.

Applications for the competition will be accepted at 23:30 (Moscow time) on June 13, 2023.

Also, as part of the implementation of the national project "Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship", a regional representative office of the Innovation Assistance Fund was opened on the basis of the My Business Center of the Republic of Tatarstan in 2022.  The

My Business Center carries out the overall integration of the implementation process of each specific project-the winner of the Student Startup competition with enterprises, universities, ministries and departments of the Republic of Tatarstan for further commercialization of technological projects. The Center also grows finalist students of the Student Startup program into technological enterprises through training and mentoring from experts of technological entrepreneurship.
