The presentation of the Mendeleevsk master plan was held at the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan. The master plan was the first document developed for a small city in the practice of the republic, and is a project of strategic development of the territory.
Specialists of the Institute "Urbanica" from St. Petersburg, experts in the field of urban planning took part in its development.
The master plan was based on an in-depth sociological study and study of the urban environment. The city development project has held several strategic sessions with the participation of residents of Mendeleevsk. Comments from citizens and experts were taken into account when forming the final version of the document.
In order to stabilize migration processes and stop the outflow of population from the city, the master plan plans to simultaneously create conditions for improving the quality of life and developing a business environment within the framework of an integrated urban economy.
The master plan of Mendeleevsk is designed for 10 years and will determine the places for future development, the development of tourist areas, transport infrastructure and industry, as well as the place of the city in Kama agglomeration. It is planned that the master plan will form the basis of the general plan of Mendeleevsk.
Financing for the development of the master plan amounted to 4.9 million rubles, funds were allocated by the city-forming enterprise JSC "Ammonium".
Experts of the Institute "Urbanica" during the presentation drew attention to the fact that Mendeleevsk has a good geographical location, is located on the banks of the river — these factors became the main ones when creating the master plan.
