The full-time stage of the business case championship within the framework of the republican project "School Business Start" was held on February 28 in the capital of Tatarstan. It was attended by about 60 young entrepreneurs from different parts of the republic – Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Kamsky Polyany, Mendeleevsk, Menzelinsk. Let us recall that the first round of the championship was held online for 330 children from 29 schools of the Republic of Tatarstan – participants of 33 school companies. The event is held in accordance with the goals of the national project "Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship" by the Center "My Business".
Kazan entrepreneurs working in the field of services, catering and promotion on the Internet acted as experts at the business case championship. They offered school students to complete practical tasks (all cases are from real life), and also told how they built their business. The guys participating in the championship received books as a gift that will help them to better navigate entrepreneurship in the future and find their way in business.
The students were greeted by the Head of the Entrepreneurship Development Department of the Entrepreneurship and Competition Development Department of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Maria Sukhova.
"Today in Tatarstan, more than 800 thousand people are employed in the field of small and medium-sized businesses. Increasing the number of people employed in small and medium-sized enterprises is a key goal of the National project "Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative", within the framework of which the Republican program "School Business Start" is being implemented," she said.
Maria Sukhova noted that in 2022 in a Message to the Government Rustam Minnikhanov stressed the need to pay special attention to the development of youth entrepreneurship, including in rural areas. To implement these tasks, the project "School Business Start" was created on the initiative of the Ministry of Economy and the Ministry of Education and Science of Tatarstan,
"A methodology has been developed, teachers have been trained, but the main thing is children. Talented, successful, with fiery eyes. At the age of 14, they will be able to register as self-employed, continue developing their entrepreneurial and leadership competencies and use a whole range of state support measures," added Maria Sukhova.
The head of the School Business Start project Elena Tikhonova told more about the Business case championship. "We selected the finalists, which is about 5% of the total number of participants. Today our finalists talked with experts – real entrepreneurs, analyzed real business cases and prepared presentations. These are schoolchildren who already have their own business, implemented startups and financial results, and they are ready to offer working solutions," said Elena Tikhonova.
"School business Start", without exaggeration, raises a whole generation of young entrepreneurs. Students of grades 5-7 make their own products – jewelry, household items, clothing, confectionery, provide cleaning services. Schoolchildren are looking for buyers in social networks and on market places.
"We see that these are good sellers who are able to present their products and build communication with consumers. During the communication with entrepreneurs today, the guys have gained invaluable experience," stressed Elena Tikhonova.
The project was launched in September 2022 and covered 12 thousand Tatarstan children from different parts of the republic, mainly from rural schools and small towns. Those who were most interested in entrepreneurial activity and demonstrated the corresponding abilities were selected from them. In December 2022, they became participants of the school fair, where they presented their goods to the court of buyers and experts.
The final of the School Business Start project will be held in Kazan in April. According to its results, the two best teams will go to Moscow to Skolkovo. During the summer holidays, the winners will also visit Gorky film studio, where they will learn how to shoot promo videos for business development.
