By the end of 2022, every ninth SME and self-employed registered in the Republic of Tatarstan is engaged in the sale of their goods in online channels. Over the year, their share increased from 7.01% to 11.5%. Moreover, 33% of them have income from online trading as their only or main income. This is reported by the Office of the Commissioner under the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs.
By the end of 2022, the number of Tatarstan sellers on marketplaces increased by 2 times and amounted to 45.5 thousand, which is 27% of the total number of sellers in the Volga Federal District (in 2021 – 23.1 thousand). Their sales turnover reached more than 50 billion rubles for the year, which is 2 times (+100.3%) more than the results of 2021 (25.14 billion rubles). Revenues to the budget of the republic from this type of activity by the end of last year amounted to about 3 billion rubles.
Such results were achieved, among other things, thanks to measures to support entrepreneurs and the self-employed provided by the regional Center "My Business" under the national project "Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative".
Measures to support SMEs to enter marketplaces are provided free of charge. Among them are the provision of certification and patenting services, placement of goods on marketplaces, including international electronic platforms, conducting training programs to improve the skills of SME representatives for effective work on Internet platforms, as well as training seminars and forums on the development of online commerce for about 2 thousand participants.
The purpose of the national project "Small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and support for individual entrepreneurial initiative" is to support business at all stages of its development: from the initial idea to expansion and export. National projects initiated by Russian President Vladimir Putin started in 2019.
