The gross regional product of Tatarstan in 2022 amounted to 3.8 trillion rubles

At a joint meeting of the operational headquarters for ensuring socio-economic stability in the Republic of Tatarstan and the Board of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midhat Shagiakhmetov noted that the past year in conditions of high uncertainty, which is largely determined by geopolitical factors, has become a serious challenge for the economy of the country and the republic. 

Thanks to the uninterrupted stable operation of enterprises, credit and financial organizations, small and medium-sized businesses, the implementation of federal and regional support measures, national projects and republican programs by the end of 2022, the gross regional product of the republic (GRP) amounted to 3 trillion 865 billion rubles. 

Industry plays a key role in the economy. The share of manufacturing industries in the industrial structure reached 72.4%, primarily due to an increase in oil refining.

The volume of construction work exceeded 570 billion rubles, or 120% of the level of 2021. The main contribution to the significant dynamics was made by the implementation of large-scale projects in road construction. The
share of the agricultural sector in the economy of the republic was 4.9%, the increase was due to crop production. 

Retail trade turnover decreased by 3%. The main reason was the decline in the volume of trade in non-food products, primarily sales of passenger cars. In the labor market, thanks to the measures taken to support the population and business, it was possible to maintain employment in 2022, the situation on the labor market is stable.
