Public hearing on the Environmental Impact Assessment were held

Yesterday at The Ministry of Transport and Road Management of Republic of Tatarstan a public hearing on the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) under the justification of investment in the construction of high-speed rail "Moscow - Kazan - Yekaterinburg" (BCM-2) took place.
The construction of BCM-2 is planned on the territory of several regions of the Russian Federation: Moscow, Moscow region, Nizhny Novgorod region ,Sverdlovsk region, Chuvash Republic, the Republic of Mari El, the Republic of Bashkortostan, Udmurtia, Tatarstan Republic and Perm region. In Republic ofTatarstan the recommended option of HSL-2 passes through the cities of Kazan and Elabuga.
The construction of BCM-2 is intended to attract additional passenger traffic to rail through the creation of more attractive for passengers conditions (the ratio of "price / rate") traffic to the east of the European part of Russia. The time spent in transit between the stations of Moscow - Kazan will be about 3-3.5 hours.
As part of the program, the Minister visited the Arsky Industrial Park, where he got acquainted with the current activities and long-term plans of the residents. During the inspection of the production facilities, Midkhat Shagiakhmetov held a substantive discussion with the heads of enterprises on capacity expansion and improving the efficiency of using the existing infrastructure.
Applications for the Start-Digital Technologies-1 competition (turn 2) are being accepted on the website of the Innovation Promotion Foundation until February 24. Individuals and legal entities, small business entities, can participate in it.
Rustem Mukhamedshin, Director of the Guarantee Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan, took part in a large–scale event - the strategic session of the Association of Small and Medium-sized Businesses of the Republic of Tatarstan, which took place on January 30, 2026 in Kazan at the Entrepreneur's House.
