Municipalities urged to work more actively with the business community
The business community makes a great contribution to economic development. More than 160,000 small and medium businesses are registered in the republic. This was announced today by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov at the XVII Congress of the Association "Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan".
The congress was attended by State Counselor of the Republic of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Farid Mukhametshin, Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexei Pesoshin, First Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan - Director of the Department for Entrepreneurship and Competition Development Airat Shamsiev, heads and employees of local governments of the republic .
In his speech, Rustam Minnikhanov noted that despite the challenges of the past months, the economy of the republic again showed significant growth. The volume of GRP will amount to almost 3.8 trillion rubles, the volume of industrial production - 4.8 trillion rubles, agricultural production - 288 billion rubles. A rich grain harvest has been harvested - more than 5 million tons. The construction sector reaches 513.8 billion rubles, investments - 774 billion rubles.
The business community makes a great contribution to economic development. More than 160 thousand small and medium-sized businesses are registered in the republic, 837 thousand people are employed in this area, which is more than 42% of all jobs. The President of Tatarstan drew attention to the fact that SMEs form a quarter of the GRP.
Rustam Minnikhanov urged municipal employees to continue work on simplifying bureaucratic regulations and licensing procedures, reducing their terms, more effectively use the potential of the business infrastructure created in the republic, and actively fill the vacant commodity niches.
At the beginning of the congress, Chairman of the Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan Ekzam Gubaidullin presented a report on the work of the Association in 2022. He shared the achievements of the municipalities and outlined the current tasks for the next year.
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan is actively cooperating with the Council of Municipalities on issues of supporting small and medium-sized businesses, creating and developing industrial parks in the municipalities of the Republic, organizing and holding a competition to provide grants to rural settlements and urban settlements formed on the basis of urban-type settlements that are not administrative centers of municipal districts, the republican competition "The best territorial public self-government of the year of the Republic of Tatarstan", to organize the republican stage of the All-Russian competition "The best municipal practice".
In 2023, grants to rural settlements have been increased to 2 million rubles. and urban-type settlements up to 2.5 million rubles. The amount of funds of the republican competition "The Best Territorial Public Self-Government of the Year of the Republic of Tatarstan" for 2023 has been increased from 50 to 73 million rubles.
The agenda included a report on the work of the Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan, the issue of by-elections to the governing bodies of the Council of Municipalities of the Republic of Tatarstan and other topical issues of the activities of municipalities.
