The senators have approved a government-drafted law that will allow self-employed individuals with disabilities who do not have employees to obtain the status of a social enterprise. Corresponding changes, developed by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation, are being introduced into the federal law "On the development of small and medium-sized businesses in the Russian Federation."
Now the status of a social enterprise can be obtained by SMEs that provide employment for people with disabilities. Innovations allow people with disabilities themselves to apply for this status, conducting entrepreneurial activities without a staff.
If an entrepreneur with a disability has employees, then in order to obtain the status of a social enterprise, he will be able to include himself in the average number of employees from among socially vulnerable categories of citizens.
There are 153 social enterprises in the Republic of Tatarstan. It should be noted that the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tajikistan accepts applications from enterprises throughout the year for inclusion in the register of such enterprises.
