180 Tatarstan citizens gathered at the regional My Business Center to participate in the opening of the first Wildberries School of Sellers in Russia, a large-scale educational project launched by the Russian marketplace. About 1000 more people connected to the online broadcast of the event.
Tatyana Bakalchuk, the founder and CEO of Wildberries, addressed the audience with a welcoming speech. She said that the choice of Kazan as the start of the project was not accidental. After all, it was in Tatarstan that the first distribution center was built outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg, from here the expansion of the marketplace to the regions of the country actually began.
She also highly appreciated the experience of Tatarstan in introducing a whole range of support measures and free services for entrepreneurs to enter marketplaces. “Thanks to this, in many respects now there are such excellent results here. The number of sellers from Tatarstan has doubled in a year, and now the republic ranks first in the Volga region in terms of sales of Wildberries,” Tatyana Bakalchuk said.
First Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Airat Shamsiev confirmed the thesis of the founder of Wildberries.
“In Tatarstan, the My Business Center comprehensively accompanies entrepreneurs and the self-employed when entering marketplaces. We provide support in choosing a site for registration, creating a personal account, branding products, setting up an advertising company, planning costs, evaluating efficiency, taking photos and creating product cards, and constantly conduct training events. Thanks to the implementation of the national SME project, accessing marketplaces has become easier and more accessible,” said Airat Shamsiev.
It should be noted that this year alone, the My Business Center of the Entrepreneurship Support Fund subordinated to the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan trained more than 3,000 thousand people to work on electronic trading platforms. At the same time, over 200 entrepreneurs and self-employed brought their products to marketplaces with the support of the Center. 5 million rubles were allocated for the implementation of programs for the entry and promotion of goods on the ETP.
Farid Abdulganiev, Assistant to the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, Commissioner for the Protection of the Rights of Entrepreneurs under the President of the Republic of Tatarstan, noted that by the beginning of 2020, 341 entrepreneurs from Tatarstan were selling their products on marketplaces. “According to the data for 9 months of 2022, this figure exceeded 41 thousand,” the speaker emphasized.
