New projects of the Innopolis SEZ will create 20,000 jobs in Tatarstan

During a working visit to the Innopolis SEZ of the Republic of Tatarstan, Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov was presented with new promising projects of a special economic zone. Among them are the Data Processing Center, a robotic hotel, a high-tech production park in the Verkhneuslonsky district, and an industrial park in the Laishevsky district.

The head of the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation was accompanied by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexei Pesoshin, his deputy Roman Shaikhutdinov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy Midkhat Shagiakhmetov and Mayor of Innopolis Ruslan Shagaleev.

“In total, more than 20,000 jobs will be created at the new facilities of the Innopolis SEZ. In the Laishevsky district, the ICL company will create a production of motherboards. The technological capabilities of the enterprise will also allow the production of personal computers, laptops, tablets, monoblocks, servers, data storage systems,” Renat Khalimov, Director General of the Innopolis SEZ, told Maxim Reshetnikov.

The minister visited the technopark. A.S. Popov, where he got acquainted with the activities of the special economic zone "Innopolis" and import-substituting solutions of residents. Among them is the domestic mobile operating system Aurora, which was used on tablets during the All-Russian Population Census in 2021.

According to Renat Khalimov, today 323 companies work in the Innopolis SEZ as residents, partners and start-ups, 100 of them were attracted in 2021. Among them are KUKA - the world leader in robotics, HUAWEI - the flagship of information and communication technologies, OZON - the first Russian company in e-commerce and others.

“In 2022, the Government will improve the regulation of SEZs. We are clarifying the procedure for creating, expanding and liquidating SEZs, simplifying all procedures for obtaining resident status. The term for concluding agreements with residents will be reduced from 40 to 15 business days. We continue cooperation with foreign investors, including those from Islamic states - Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan, Iran, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan. With the participation of foreign investors, 14 residents operate on the territory of seven special economic zones. SEZ "Alabuga" in the Republic of Tatarstan is one of them," said Maxim Reshetnikov.

Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov said that two special economic zones "Innopolis" and "Alabuga" are successfully operating in the Republic of Tatarstan and they are among the leaders according to the results of the assessment of the efficiency of the SEZ, conducted annually by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia, and the National rating of the investment attractiveness of Russia's special economic zones.

“During their successful operation, special economic zones have provided a significant contribution to the economy of the republic: 213.2 billion rubles have been attracted. private investment, created 15,680 jobs, generated 770.5 billion rubles. revenue," Midkhat Shagiakhmetov emphasized.

As part of his visit to Innopolis, Maxim Reshetnikov also visited Innopolis University, where he got acquainted with the projects of the Center for Robotics, the Center for Artificial Intelligence and the Center for Greenhouse Gas Verification. The minister was shown the geoinformation services being developed here and told about the areas of training for the digital economy within the framework of the Basic Educational Center and the Institute of Additional Education of the university.

The minister took a ride in an unmanned taxi of the Yandex company, launched in Innopolis in 2018. Today, 8 cars run in the city, which have already made more than 30 thousand trips during this time.

In 2022, Innopolis established an experimental legal regime in the field of digital innovations for the operation of highly automated vehicles, which allows the operation of fully unmanned trips (without a test engineer in the cabin). The corresponding program was developed by the Ministry of Economic Development of Russia together with Yandex.Test LLC with the assistance of federal executive authorities (the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, the Ministry of Transport of Russia, the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, etc.).
