An analysis of the streaming data of cash registers provided by the Federal Tax Service of Russia indicates the stability of demand in the retail food market of the Republic of Tatarstan. The volume of sales of long-term storage products is below the reference week. This was told by the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov at a meeting in the Government House chaired by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.
Midkhat Shagiakhmetov recalled that daily monitoring of commodity stocks continues in retail chains. Ensuring the stability of commodity markets is under the constant control of the Working Group of the Operational Headquarters.
The minister noted that this week a traditional increase in retail sales of a number of products was recorded, connected with the preparation of the population for Easter.
“The sales volumes of eggs, flour and vegetable oil have increased. As part of the work of the Operational Headquarters, this dynamics was predicted in advance. Stocks of goods in retail chains have been formed taking into account increased demand,” Midkhat Shagiakhmetov added.
He stressed that the volume of basic goods in stores and distribution centers is sufficient to meet the demand of the population of the republic.
“In order to further stability in the commodity markets, taking into account the beginning of the summer season before the weekend and the May holidays, the Ministry of Industry and Trade, together with the municipalities, needs to ensure the availability of increased commodity stocks in suburban retail chains,” said Midkhat Shagiakhmetov.
