A memorial plaque in honor of Shakir Akhtyamov was installed in Kazan with the assistance of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan

On August 19, a solemn ceremony of opening a memorial plaque in honor of the 120th anniversary of the birth of the statesman and political figure Shakir Akhtyamov took place on Nikolaev Street No. 5 of the Vakhitovsky district of Kazan. He worked as a Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of the TASSR of the second, third, fourth convocations, first Secretary of the Buinsky and Apastovsky district committees Of the All-Union Communist Party of the Bolsheviks, he supervised the construction of a railway on the Sviyazhsk-Ulyanovsk section in 1942.

On the board, there is an inscription in Russian and Tatar: "In this house in 1958-1989 lived the state and political figure of the Republic of Tatarstan Shakir Akhmetzyanovich Akhtyamov." The initiators of the installation of the memorial plaque were the grandchildren of Shakir Akhmetzyanovich, the idea was supported by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Tatarstan.

Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan on Economy, Investment and Entrepreneurship Rinat Gaizatullin, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Natalia Kondratova, Deputy Minister of Culture Damir Natfullin, First Deputy Head of the Administration of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts of the Executive Committee of the Municipal Formation of Kazan Airat Akhmadullin, grandchildren of Shakir Akhmetzyanovich Ravil Akhtyamov and Elmira Arslanova participated in the opening of the memorial plaque.

In his welcoming speech, Rinat Gaizatullin, who is a fellow countryman of Shakir Akhtyamov, noted that the name of this man is inextricably linked with the years of the Great Patriotic War. Thanks to the responsibility and creative energy of Shakir Akhmetzyanovich, it was possible to build a railway in a short time in a difficult wartime, which subsequently provided the supply of weapons to the Soviet troops.

"He is a great example for descendants, he received a higher education, was a very talented person, so he quickly rose up the career ladder. The people loved him," Rinat Raufovich added.

For his work, Shakir Akhmetzyanovich was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor in 1945, the Order of Lenin in 1950, the medals "For Labor Valor", "For Valiant Labor in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945"

The grandchildren of Shakir Akhmetzyanovich thanked the leadership of the republic for the help and support provided.
