5,000 vehicles under the program “Development of the gas-engine market in the Republic of Tatarstan” have been converted to methane since 2016. Where, about 2,000 are vehicles of individuals.It should be noted that under the subsidy program, the largest number of cars was switched to natural gas in 2019 and 2020. So, in the current year, 1,248 vehicles were subsidized.As part of implementation of this program, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, together with the State Institution “Center for Implementation of Programs for Support and Development of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses of the Republic of Tatarstan”, provided subsidies to accredited Conversion Points to compensate for lost income as a result of the transfer of vehicles of legal entities and individuals to methane.The concept of the program assumes an active economical transition of transport to the use of natural gas as a vehicle fuel. The phased transition of all types of transport to the consumption of natural gas will reduce the cost of transportation, increase the energy efficiency of the country's transport system, and reduce the negative impact of transport on the environment several times.The implementation of this program will be continued in 2021, the operator will be the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan.
