11 September 2020, Friday

On September 19-20, Kazan will host the Forum for Self-Employed. Micro-entrepreneurs of Tatarstan will gather in the Gorkinsko-Ometyevsky forest, where they will present their services and products at the fair, hold meetings with representatives of government authorities and the business community to discuss topical issues of self-employment.

Today, about 78 thousand Tatarstan citizens are registered as self-employed. In addition, another 8.6 thousand nonresident citizens registered in other constituent entities of the country chose the republic as a region to conduct their activities. According to the Federal Tax Service, the most popular types of activities among self-employed residents of the republic are passenger transportation, renting out apartments, consulting, tutoring, programming, marketing and advertising.

The festival program includes two blocks of activities. The first is a business program in the format of strategic sessions on various issues that arise among self-employed residents of the republic in the process of doing business. The sessions will be held with participation of representatives of the authorities and local government of the republic. Another block of the festival will be a fair for self-employed products and an exhibition-lecture hall dedicated to the placement of micro-entrepreneurs' goods on marketplaces.

Within the framework of the forum, issues of state support measures for the self-employed, the work of citizens who have chosen a special tax regime on electronic trading platforms, and their interaction with credit institutions will be raised. Another topic for discussion will be the regulatory and legal constraints faced by self-employed Tatarstan citizens during their activities and their interaction with control and supervisory authorities.

The organizers of the event are the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Mayor's Office of Kazan, the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Self-Employed Support Center, and the Business Support and Development Fund “Entrepreneurship Factory”. The event will be held within the framework of the national project to support small and medium-sized businesses.

Please note that in order to comply with sanitary and epidemiological precautions, no more than 40 participants will take part in the business program, while the broadcast of the event on the YouTube platform will be available to everyone.

Let us remind you, last year the first Festival of the Self-Employed also took place, in which more than 200 micro-entrepreneurs took part.
