A new logistics complex X5 was opened in Tatarstan

26 August 2020, Wednesday

Today a modern distribution center of X5 Retail Group was opened in Elabuga, with participation of Prime Minister Alexey Pesoshin. About 980 million rubles were allocated for implementation of this project. The area of the new logistics complex of the Pyaterochka retail chain is 18 thousand square meters. The contractor for the construction of the DC was the development group “Romex-Kuban”, which implemented a similar project in the city of Zelenodolsk, Republic of Tatarstan.

The object was solemnly opened by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin. The Prime Minister noted that the logistics complex will handle 2,500 tons of cargo per day. When it reaches full capacity, the distribution center will provide 600 stores in 300 settlements of Tatarstan and Udmurtia with food.

“The uninterrupted operation of the complex is ensured by over 270 employees and about 100 pieces of equipment. The operation of the complex will increase the share of Tatarstan producers in the chain's turnover in the region, which currently exceeds 30%. Now 100 suppliers of the region cooperate with X5, 18 of which added their products to the range of retail chains last year”, Pesoshin summed up.

Let us remind the construction of a modern distribution center for X5 Retail Group in Elabuga started on May 14, 2019. The President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in laying the first stone in foundation of the logistics complex. “I support these projects, because today new markets for our producers are new opportunities. This is an opportunity for our producers to get into federal trade networks”, Rustam Nurgaliyevich noted at the laying of the first stone.

It should be noted that the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan is implementing large investment projects by creating favorable conditions for large-scale attraction of domestic and foreign direct investment, creating modern industrial and production complexes on the territory that meet international standards, in addition, Tatarstan is a convenient logistics center of the European part of Russia.

“This is a very important step for creating an uninterrupted supply chain in a strategically important region for us. Now there are more than 700 Pyaterochka stores in Tatarstan. I want to separately thank the leadership of the Republic of Tatarstan for their support in opening this DC and also in launching the DC in Zelenodolsk last year. These projects allowed not only to improve the logistics of the retail network in the region, but also to strengthen our relationship with the leadership of the republic and with local suppliers, which is very important for the uninterrupted provision of fresh food products at an affordable price to the residents of Tatarstan and neighboring regions”, said the General Director of the trading network “Pyaterochka” Sergey Goncharov.

In order to remove infrastructural restrictions between the Single-Industry Towns Development Fund and the Republic of Tatarstan, on December 31, 2019, an agreement was signed on co-financing the construction of off-site networks for this wholesale distribution center. The total cost of construction of off-site networks amounted to 189.5 million rubles, including 147.7 million rubles at the expense of the Fund and 41.8 million rubles at the expense of the budget of the Republic of Tatarstan. The finances were directed to the construction of road infrastructure, water and gas supply networks, storm sewers, two block complete transformer substations.

The contractor for the construction of the distribution center was the development group Romex-Kuban, which is implementing the second large project in Tatarstan. Let us recall that in November 2019, the Kazan distribution center was opened in Zelenodolsk. Thus, the total area of Pyaterochka warehouses in the region exceeded 57,000 square meters. Today there are more than 700 chain stores in Tatarstan, 24 of which were opened this year.
