Agency for Strategic Initiatives is preparing the launch of a new model of the National Technology Initiative

13 April 2020, Monday

On April 8, as part of the “Spring Navigator” online convention, the large NTI 2.0 foresight was launched, which will serve as a platform for updating and launching new markets for the National Technology Initiative on personalized nutrition, education, gamification, climate ecosystem management, and the use of modern approaches in construction.

Let us recall that one of the NTI Competence Centers was created in the Republic of Tatarstan on the basis of Innopolis University. The activities of the Center are aimed at development of technologies and components of robotics and mechatronics. The center has 6 laboratories that are engaged in research and development in the field of industrial robotics, unmanned vehicles, aircraft, neuroscience and artificial intelligence.

In turn, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan is the single regional coordinator for ensuring the development of the Innopolis special economic zone. In this status, the department is responsible for development and transfer of high-tech solutions and improving the conditions for creating highly competitive assets.

According to the results of the foresight, the organizers expect to receive ready-made teams, lists of projects and start-ups for new NTI markets, approved plans for development of private companies, formed request of the education system for training personnel, and also for the state for regulatory changes and new legislative initiatives.

In the current situation with the pandemic (COVID-19), the NTI 2.0 foresight takes place in an online format, which will allow all regions of Russia to get involved in this process as much as possible.

From April 8 to May 12, an online convention, Spring Navigator, will select participants in the new foresight, which will determine the configuration of the future NTI model. Participants will be able to offer their ideas to new markets and new directions for existing ones, will unite around these ideas and work out “road maps” of these markets during the summer months. After defending the developed concepts for development of new NTI markets, scheduled for the end of July, new priority projects will be selected. The start of implementation of new roadmaps is scheduled for autumn 2020.
