Tatarstan takes 6th place in terms of gross regional product among the constituent entities of the Russian Federation

Rosstat published data on the gross regional product of Russian regions for 2018. According to the results of 2018, Tatarstan took 6th place in terms of GRP among the regions of the Russian Federation, continuing steady growth, so in 2016 the republic was in 8th place, in 2017 – 7th. The largest volume of macro-indicators is traditionally recorded in Moscow, also among the leaders: the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous District, Moscow Region, St. Petersburg and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous district. The share of GRP of the Republic of Tatarstan in the amount of GRP for the constituent entities of the Russian Federation is 2.9%. According to the results of 2018, the volume of GRP of the Republic of Tatarstan amounted to 2,469.2 billion rubles, or 102.1% in comparable prices to the level of 2017 (in 2017 - 2,139.8 billion rubles; 101.6%). According to this indicator, Tatarstan occupies a leading position among the constituent entities of the Volga Federal District. The largest share in the structure of the economy is occupied by: industry - 48.9%, trade - 11.3%, construction - 8.1%, transportation and storage - 5.8%, agriculture - 5.7%.
