"An excellent opportunity to discuss the potential and future prospects for the development of non-resource non-energy export," Farid Abdulganiev described regional track "Made in Russia", which is being held today in Kazan. Today, export activities are seen as one of the most important factors for increasing sustainability and economic growth. And one of the most serious tasks facing the Republic of Tatarstan is an increase in exports, said Minister Abdulganiev. "Tatarstan was more fortunate than other regions," said Andrei Zhigalov, senior expert on interregional communications of the REC. "Much is done to support exports, other regions are oriented toward Tatarstan".
Tatarstan is among the five largest exporters of Russia in the regions for the third year in a row. By the end of 2017, the republic's exports increased by almost 40% (39.8%) compared to the previous year and amounted to more than USD 13 billion (in 2016 – USD 9 billion 571 million).
The growth rate of exports of the Russian Federation also demonstrates high dynamics. According to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, the volume of exports for 2017 increased by 25% compared to 2016 (from USD 286 billion to USD 357 billion).
Non-raw exports are one of the main sources of growth in the Russian economy, and its non-energy component should increase to USD 250 billion over six years, the Russian President Vladimir Putin said in his message to the Federal Assembly. It should be noted that the Republic of Tatarstan demonstrates a rather high growth rate of non-resource non-energy exports. Its volume in 2017 increased by 21.9% and amounted to more than USD 3.3 billion (in 2016 – USD 2 billion 712 million).
In the republic, a systematic work is carried out to assist companies to enter foreign markets: large business is supported by the efforts of our colleagues from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Agency for Investment Development of the Republic of Tatarstan.
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan and the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan provide support to small and medium-sized enterprises.
The Export Support Center of the Republic of Tatarstan, which is the structural subdivision of the Entrepreneurship Support Fund, became the leader among the other regional centers in terms of the number of contracts (159), by the number of exporting countries (28), and by the number of SMBs (63). In 2017, according to the Federal Customs Service of Russia, the number of small and medium-sized enterprises engaged in export activities amounted to 645 (2016 – 251, 2015 – 213).
In addition to existing structures and measures to support non-resource exports, additional incentive mechanisms are being worked out at the regional level. The Republic of Tatarstan was included in the list of pilot regions for the implementation of the export standard, which main task is to create an export strategy. At present, the strategy of export development of the Republic of Tatarstan until 2025, which defines priorities, tools and the necessary amount of resources for the development of non-resource export of products, is on the approval of the Government of the Republic (the main developer is the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic of Tatarstan).
