A meeting of the State Council of the Russian Federation on promoting competition was held in Moscow

A meeting of the State Council of the Russian Federation under the chairmanship of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin was held in Moscow. The event was attended by the President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov. The meeting was devoted to the priority areas of activity of subjects of the Russian Federation aimed at developing competition.

Head of the working group for preparation for the meeting of the State Council of the Russian Federation and Head of the Republic of Udmurtia Alexandr Brechalov, Head of the Federal Anti-Monopoly Service Igor Artemyev presented their reports at the meeting. In addition, speeches on the topic were presented by the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation Maxim Oreshkin and Governor of the Ulyanovsk Oblast Sergei Morozov.

Measures necessary to achieve goals set forth in the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation "On the main areas of the state policy on developing competition" were considered during discussions.

Remember that in 2014, in the Republic of Tatarstan the competition is developed within the framework of the Competition Development Standard. The main objectives of the Standard are to:

- establish a systematic and uniform approach to the execution of activities of the executive authorities of the subjects of the Russian Federation, local self-government bodies and territorial bodies of federal executive bodies to create conditions for the development of competition between economic entities in sectors of the economy with regards to regional specifics;

- facilitate creation of a transparent system of work of executive bodies of the Russian Federation subjects with regards to the implementation of effective measures to promote competition for the benefits to consumers of goods, works and services, including business entities, citizens and societies;

- determine development potential of the economy of the Russian Federation, including scientific, technological and human potential;

- create incentives and facilitate creation of conditions for the development, support and protection of small and medium-sized businesses, as well as facilitate removal of administrative barriers.

 By the Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Tatarstan dated 06.05.2014 No. 799-p, executive responsibility for facilitation of the development of competition in the republic is assigned to the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan.
