20 May 2026, Wednesday

The Made in Russia festival and fair has started in Harbin, which will last until May 21 and will be held in parallel with the Tenth Russian-Chinese EXPO at the Harbin International Trade and Economic Fair. This is the third year in a row that Harbin has hosted a Russian festival, and the only one in China is the Russian Export Center (REC, VEB Group.Russia) has organized six such events since 2024, when the first fairs were held in Shenyang, Dalian and Chengdu.

Two companies from Tatarstan are participating in the event:

Tatspirtprom JSC, one of the largest alcohol companies in the Russian Federation, the leader in the production of vodka products in the country for two years.

IE Mustayeva Olesya Nikolaevna is a developer and manufacturer of natural cosmetics under her own brand "Olesya Mustayeva Workshop". China is a priority market for the company, which required the certification of goods according to the requirements of the exporting country. Due to the receipt of an appropriate support measure, the product line presented at the fair has the necessary permits for sale in China. In addition, IE Mustaeva O.N. is an active recipient of such support measures as participation in international exhibitions, protection of intellectual property rights, marketing research, placement on international marketplaces, support of an export contract, as well as a holder of the "Made in Russia" certificate.

This year, the exhibition started on the 17th of May. There is a week of active business diplomacy ahead. More than a hundred Russian manufacturers from 37 regions of the country took part in the exhibition. Guests of the site can get acquainted with a wide range of goods, including agricultural products, beverages and dietary supplements, cosmetics and hygiene products, consumer goods, jewelry and souvenirs, as well as services in the field of tourism.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior government and business representatives from both sides. Thus, the Chinese side was represented by the heads of the provinces of Heilongjiang and Liaoning, the mayor of Harbin and the heads of trade departments.

Heilongjiang Province (the administrative center and largest city is Harbin) It remains one of the key centers of Russian-Chinese trade, where more than 70% of foreign trade turnover is accounted for by Russia.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, greeted the participants of the festival and fair. He stressed that Harbin is imbued with the atmosphere of strong friendship between the peoples of Russia and China and occupies a special place in the history of relations between the two countries.

"I am glad that the holding of the "Made in Russia" festival and fair has already become a good tradition. At the start of the visit, this initiative was supported by the leaders of our countries: President of Russia Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin and President of the People's Republic of China, Comrade Xi Jinping. Chinese citizens and entrepreneurs liked the format of such festivals, and the products of domestic manufacturers and the national brand “Made in Russia” are very popular in China. In recent years, the volume of bilateral trade between our countries has been constantly growing, the trade infrastructure is developing, and conditions for successful business are being created. This allows Russian companies to promote their products, find partners, and explore new markets," said the Russian Deputy Prime Minister.

The organizers have prepared a rich program: guests can taste dishes from Kamchatka crab, see pancakes and steaks prepared by Russian chefs, attend screenings of Russian animation and workshops on painting toys. Popular Chinese bloggers who conduct live broadcasts from the festival, introducing Russian products to millions of users, also contribute to the popularization of goods.

"Russian exports to China are developing dynamically. It is especially important for us that the main driver of growth is non-primary non-energy products. Annual shipments have been steadily increasing since 2021. In 2025, non-primary non-energy exports increased by 18%. Such dynamics and such scale require high-quality infrastructure for promotion, and our festival-fair opens up great opportunities for domestic manufacturers to enter the huge Chinese market. Since the first fairs were held in Shenyang and Dalian in 2024, more than 500 Russian companies and two million Chinese citizens have participated in the festivals. Over two and a half years, more than 2,000 business meetings have been held on the sidelines of the festivals, and contracts worth over 15 billion rubles have been signed. Such events make it possible to strengthen Russian-Chinese relations, develop trade and economic cooperation, and introduce Russian products and culture to Chinese consumers," said Veronika Nikishina, General Director of the REC.

The festival-fair is an important tool for the development of trade and economic cooperation. About 400 negotiations are planned to be held this year. The products presented at the fair are available for order not only locally, but also through the national Made in Russia store and leading Chinese marketplaces.

The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of business associations, Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Aisen Nikolaev, Governor of the Amur Region Vasily Orlov, Head of the Republic of Kalmykia Batu Khasikov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Harbin Sergey Linnik.

"When we talk about entering the Chinese market, we often think in terms of large parties. But today there is a huge additional channel in the form of digital platforms, which completely changes the logistics of selling our products. It is necessary to digitally integrate our state systems with the largest platforms in order to provide agricultural exporters with access to a market of 1.5 billion consumers. The second area is logistics. We consider it necessary to develop multimodal port-to-port + dry port services at the border, which will create a continuous logistics process. And the third is the creation of new financial instruments. Delovaya Rossiya, with the support of partners from the China Chamber of Commerce for the Export and Import of Mechanical Engineering and Electronic Products, is ready to provide feedback and fine-tune these tools to meet the actual needs of the manufacturer through its industry committees," noted Alexey Repik, Chairman of Delovaya Rossiya.

The REC is implementing a program to promote the national brand "Made in Russia", approved by the Government of the Russian Federation in 2025, which aims to increase the recognition of domestic products on world markets through the bird symbol in the colors of the Russian flag. The partners of the festival were the Moscow Export Center and ROSEXIMBANK. The information partner is Sputnik-Inform.

Russian exporters can apply for participation in the festivals and fairs on the website of the Made in Russia program https://madeinrussia.com/ru/events/, which contains a calendar of foreign events held with the support of the REC.

The Russian Export Center (REC, VEB.RF Group) is a government institution that supports non-primary non-energy exports. It provides companies from various industries with both financial and non-financial assistance at all stages of entering international markets, including within the framework of the national project "International Cooperation and Export". Most of the services offered by the REC Group are available online on the state digital platform "My Export". The REC is responsible for the main functions of ensuring and implementing the "Made in Russia" program. The REC Group includes the Russian Agency for Export Credit and Investment Insurance (EXIAR), ROSEXIMBANK and the REC Export School.
