The first AAOIFI Representative Center in the CIS countries has been opened in Tatarstan

Tatarstan has opened the first Representative Center for the Development of Islamic Finance in the CIS countries, the Organization for Accounting and Auditing for Islamic Financial Institutions AAOIFI.

The opening of the AAOIFI center has become an important step in the development of Islamic finance in Russia and the Eurasian region, and will also ensure integration with the global system of Islamic finance. The main objectives of the center are to adapt international standards of Islamic banking, develop human resources and strengthen cooperation with the largest institutions of the Islamic world.

As part of the event program, it is planned to hold a round table on the topic "The role and objectives of the Representative Center in the development of partner financing in the CIS countries."

The event will be attended by the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, R. N. Minnikhanov, Chairman of the AAOIFI Board of Trustees, Sheikh Ibrahim Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, representatives of the Central Bank of the Russian Federation, executive authorities of the subjects participating in the partnership financing experiment, deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, representatives of the Association of Banks of Russia, as well as exhibitions with the participation of organizations from Russia and CIS countries operating in the field of partner financing, and the signing of a series of agreements.

Within the framework of international cooperation, the Republic of Tatarstan closely cooperates with the Organization of Accounting and Auditing of Islamic Financial Institutions AAOIFI.

It should be recalled that in November of this year, the delegation of the Republic of Tatarstan took part in the 20th AAOIFI Conference on Islamic Banking and Finance in Bahrain. On the sidelines of the conference, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan and AAOIFI, aimed at strengthening mutually beneficial ties and exchanging experience between the parties. The document reflects the common desire to develop Islamic finance in Russia and the CIS countries, as well as to promote the integration of international standards into national financial systems.
