On October 17, 2025, an international seminar aimed at developing women's competencies in the field of intellectual property and innovation opened at the Idea Technopark.
An important event for the region's innovation ecosystem has started in Kazan today — the international seminar "Empowering Women Entrepreneurs, researchers, Innovators and SMEs in the field of intellectual Property use." The event was organized by the State Educational Institution "Center for Scientific and Technical Information of the Republic of Tatarstan" under the auspices of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan in cooperation with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and with the support of the Federal Service for Intellectual Property (Rospatent).
Roman Amirkhanov, Deputy Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan and Head of the Department of Socio-Economic Monitoring, delivered a welcoming speech to the participants on behalf of Midkhat Shagiakhmetov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan. In his address, he noted the strategic importance of intellectual property for the modern economy:
"The Republic of Tatarstan is consistently among the leaders among the regions of Russia in terms of the number of registered patents, which is a clear evidence of the high innovative potential of our region. It is especially important that the level of involvement of small and medium-sized businesses in intellectual property protection processes increases by 12% annually, which directly affects the competitiveness of products on the Russian and international markets."
The seminar program includes presentations by leading experts from WIPO and Rospatent, who share relevant knowledge about the procedures for registration and protection of intellectual property rights both in Russia and abroad. Special attention is paid to the practical aspects of using intellectual property mechanisms for the development of innovative business.
The Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan is actively developing cooperation with federal and international institutions in the field of intellectual property protection, which promotes the introduction of best practices and the exchange of experience necessary for the innovative development of the region.
The workshop will last all day and will end with a question and answer session, where participants will be able to receive expert advice on specific cases and situations.
