Tatarstan entered the top 10 regions of the country in terms of the number of manufacturers of school products

The Republic of Tatarstan has entered the list of Russia's leading regions in terms of the number of small and medium-sized businesses specializing in the production of school supplies. In the region, 116 business entities are engaged in the production of products for schoolchildren.

In total, there are about 4,6 thousand companies specializing in school products in Russia. Over the past three years, their number has increased by about 200 units. The largest growth was recorded among manufacturers of equipment for the educational process, including digital laboratories and interactive exhibits.

The top three in terms of production in Russia are Moscow, St. Petersburg and the Moscow region.

According to Alexander Isaevich, CEO of SME Corporation, the average age of companies in this field is 10 years, while the average age of small and medium-sized enterprises is 7.5 years. This is primarily due to the steady demand for manufactured products, which is why the niche is stable and growing.

Among the industries, small and medium-sized enterprises producing suitcases and bags are leading in terms of growth (+18%), including briefcases, backpacks, and so on. Manufacturers of children's food, including school food, complete the list of leading directions (+12%).

Let us recall that there are more than 180,000 small and medium-sized businesses in Tatarstan, providing jobs for about 830,000 people. This is 40% of the employed in the republic's economy.

Small and medium-sized businesses are supported by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan and its subordinate development institutions under the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy".
