Sheikh Ibrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Organization of Accounting and Auditing of Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI), visited the office of Better Ak Bars Bank in Kazan. The Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan - Midkhat Shagiakhmetov took part in it.
The visit took place within the framework of the AAOIFI International conference on Islamic finance and investments, which is provided for by the program of the XVI International Economic Forum "Russia – the Islamic World: KAZANFORUM".
The management of Ak Bars Bank, represented by First Deputy Chairman of the Management Board T. R. Karimov, Head of the Investment Business Directorate A. I. Mukhametzyanov, Director of the M. M. Sadriev Center for Islamic Banking, demonstrated to the guest of honor the advantages of the bank's new office format and the Islamic product portfolio, including an Islamic mortgage, an Islamic card, an Islamic checking account, an Islamic corporate card, an Islamic trade acquiring and other Islamic products of the bank, developed on the basis of AAOIFI standards and conforming to Sharia norms.
After completing the presentation part, the event participants discussed the prospects for further development of Islamic banking in Tatarstan and Russia as a whole, the opportunities offered by membership in AAOIFI, and exchanged memorable gifts.
His Excellency Sheikh Ibrahim highly appreciated the level of organization of the "Better" office space: "An Islamic bank should attract customers with its service, convenience for people and fairness. The bank is moving in the right direction."
