Chairman of the Organization of Accounting and Auditing of Islamic Financial Institutions (AAOIFI) His Excellency Sheikh Ibrahim bin Khalifa Al Khalifa visited Sberbank's flagship Islamic finance office as part of his official visit to the Republic of Tatarstan. Also, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, Midkhat Shagiakhmetov, took part.
We remind you that the trip is timed to coincide with the 1st AAOIFI International Conference on Islamic Finance and Investments.
The guests were guided by Behnam Gurban–Zadeh, Managing Director and Head of Sberbank's Center for Partner Financing and Special Projects.
The representatives of the delegation got acquainted with the concept of the office, products and services of the Sber that comply with Sharia law. Particular attention was paid to the fact that the BEAC was the first Russian Federation to become a member of the AAOIFI and is developing Islamic finance activities in accordance with the Organization's standards.
The Chairman of AAOIFI highly appreciated the Bank's contribution to the development of the industry and stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of standardization, Sharia audit and education.
The clients of the Islamic office have access to 16 partner financing products that meet AAOIFI standards: the Adafa debit card, the Amana current account, the Islamic cash settlement service, the Murabaha mortgage, the Halal Investments trust management strategy, the Halal Investments BPIF, the Card Al Hassan revolving financing, the financing of Murabaha, halal BNPL, trade finance, etc.
