Loans in the amount of 7.7 billion rubles were received by small and medium-sized businesses of the Republic of Tatarstan for three quarters of 2024 using the umbrella guarantees of the SME Corporation. This is 59% more than in the first nine months of last year. The number of recipients is 751 republican entrepreneurs. In general, in Russia, the volume of loans attracted using the umbrella mechanism amounted to 338 billion rubles.

According to statistics from the SME Corporation, the education sector has become the leader in terms of the increase in loans under umbrella guarantees (an increase of 342%, to almost 1 billion rubles). Also, high growth — by 214% — was noted in the field of information and communications (up to 13.5 billion rubles), ecology (+180%, up to 1.7 billion rubles) and in scientific and technical activities (an increase of 151%, up to almost 13 billion rubles).

"Tourism is among the leading areas in terms of the growth of funds raised under umbrella guarantees. This year, using this mechanism, 13.2 billion rubles of credit funds have already been received — twice as much as a year earlier. The largest growth was recorded in such areas as rental and sale of travel equipment — 2.8 times, up to 0.5 billion rubles. SME travel agencies have also become noticeably more active in attracting financing, with the volume of bank funds received increasing 2.4 times, to 0.84 billion rubles. Restaurants and cafes have seen an increase in loans by more than half, to 5.6 billion rubles," said Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak.

"In general, the number of SMEs using umbrella guarantees has almost tripled this year. In January — September, it reached 30 thousand, whereas a year earlier the same figure was about 11 thousand. Most often, small and medium-sized businesses use finances attracted with the help of umbrella guarantees to replenish working capital - over 255 billion rubles. SMEs took more than 72.5 billion rubles for investment purposes, and almost 6.6 billion were allocated for the development of entrepreneurial activity. About 4.6 billion more will be used to refinance previously taken loans," said Alexander Isaevich, CEO of SME Corporation.

The umbrella guarantee mechanism was launched on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin in 2021. It is being implemented within the framework of the national project "Small and medium-sized enterprises". Guarantees provide up to 50% of the loan amount and can reach 1 billion rubles with a loan term of up to 15 years.
