A pilot mechanism of financial support secured by intellectual property has been launched in Tatarstan as part of the national project

As part of the national project "Small and medium-sized enterprises", a mechanism for lending secured by intellectual property for business has been launched in the Republic of Tatarstan. 

The financial and guarantee products "Utility Model" and "Intellectual Asset", respectively, have been developed and are being implemented on the initiative of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan and business support institutes.

The mechanism will increase the availability of financial support for companies that cannot provide traditional types of collateral and is designed to stimulate the development of innovations and investments in the creation of intangible assets.

"The introduction of intellectual property results into economic circulation is the key to the development of an innovative economy. We are creating conditions under which inventions, technologies and creative solutions will not lie "on the shelf", but will bring real benefits both for their creators and for enterprises in the real sector of the economy," said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Tatarstan - Minister of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan Midkhat Shagiakhmetov.

In Tatarstan, the manufacturer of anatomical, orthopedic and innovative pillows took advantage of the support secured by intellectual property. 

The maximum amount of financing for the product of the Business Support Fund "Utility Model" is 15 million rubles and is issued for up to 4 years at 7% per annum under the guarantee of the Guarantee Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan in the amount of 95% of the loan amount for the product "Intellectual Asset". The guarantee is secured by the pledge of exclusive rights to the result of intellectual property, the estimated value of which must exceed the amount of the guarantee of the Guarantee Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan.

The Center for Scientific and Technical Information of the Republic of Tatarstan will assist in the search for an intellectual property appraiser and accompany the transaction in the process of encumbrance on the pledge in Rospatent.

The pilot project in Tatarstan is an important step in the development of financial instruments that stimulate innovation and allow companies owning valuable intellectual property to gain access to financing for the development of their businesses. The implementation of this project can become an example for other regions of Russia, contributing to strengthening the country's innovative potential.

Support for entrepreneurs in the republic is being implemented by the Ministry of Economy of Tatarstan and subordinate business development institutions within the framework of the national project "Small and Medium-sized Entrepreneurship", which was initiated by the President of Russia.
