For the first time, Islamic preferential leasing can be used in the Republic of Tatarstan

In September 2023, Tatarstan became one of the pilot regions participating in the experiment on partner (Islamic) financing. To develop the partner financing segment, the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan has launched a preferential Islamic leasing product "Ijara". It is designed taking into account the needs of the population and business. 

To date, the first deal has been implemented. The preferential leasing product "Ijara" was approved by the Council of Ulema of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan. 

The first to receive support consistent with the norms of Islam was the resident of the Alga Industrial Park, which produces construction metal structures and other products. As part of the Islamic leasing of Ijara, an entrepreneur acquires an excavator loader.

The purchase of an excavator loader will allow the enterprise from Naberezhnye Chelny to reduce the cost of renting special equipment from third-party organizations and reduce production by up to 25%. The Regional Leasing Company of the Republic of Tatarstan implements the Islamic leasing product. 

Within the framework of Islamic leasing, small and medium-sized enterprises of the republic can purchase commercial vehicles and special equipment for leasing according to Islamic norms. The amount of financing ranges from 1 million to 15 million rubles.

The lease term is up to 5 years, the security payment under the lease agreement is 10% of the value of the leased item, but not less than the lessor's costs associated with the acquisition of the leased item.
